The skirt that was never the right length.

on

So we say this is our life. And we’re pretty adamant about it. And we ardently believe that we are aware and have embraced all the implications of this thing we called our life.

Here’s the deal;

Stacy’s skirts were too short,“revealing and all that”

Uncle Densil, Mr Silva, Aunty Mala and Upali from the house down the lane told that to mama. So mama told her a nice word or two and then lengthened them from the hem before dada came home. And then that night, Uncle Densil, Mr Silva, Aunty Mala and Upali from the house down the lane slept well. Stacy had to cry herself to sleep.

Latha’s skirts were too long,“Godey and that sort of thing”

Uncle Kumara,Mr Brandon,Aunty Rita and Andy from the house up the lane told that to amma. So amma told her a nice word or two and then lengthened them from the hem before appachchi came home. And that night, Uncle Kumara, Mr Brandon, Aunty Rita and Andy from the house up the lane slept well. Latha cried herself to sleep.

So like, the skirts are never the right length. Not to us, but to them.

But then again, it’s “our life” and all that, or so we keep on saying.

So putha, the question is, is it ?Image
